Steph has over 30 years legal experience and since 1 June 2023 has practised as a barrister after leaving Dyhrberg Drayton Employment Law. Steph previously worked for Russell McVeagh, Wellington, as a Crown Counsel in the Employment and Education team of The Crown Law Office, and for a human resources firm.

Steph is recognised as a highly effective senior employment advisor and advocate.  She is a skilled conference and workshop presenter and has developed a specialist expertise in undertaking independent investigations and reviews. Steph is a certified AWI investigator. In 2018, Steph was awarded Wellingtonian of the Year in recognition of her work to combat sexual harassment in the workplace. She runs independent complaints management services for NZ Rugby and SKY TV.

Steph is the Deputy Chairman of Mary Potter Hospice and is on the judging panel for the Electra Business Awards (Kapiti-Horowhenua). She is a member of the NZLS National Friends’ Panel.
