I am a Barrister and Commercial Mediator (AAMINZ) specialising in public and commercial law including in evolving areas of AI, automated decision-making and privacy.
Pauline is an experienced civil litigator and commercial mediator (AAMINZ). She has argued cases and provided advice in a broad range of public law and commercial areas including revenue and Customs law; company law including bankruptcy, insolvency and creditors’ remedies including freezing orders; health, social security and conservation; and evolving issues in the digital space including artificial intelligence, automated decision-making and privacy. She is the Independent Reviewer of Auditor Appointment Methodology for the Office of Auditor-General. Pauline is on the faculty of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills programme. After 20 years with Crown Law, most latterly as a Senior Crown Counsel, Pauline now practises as a Barrister Sole through Kate Sheppard Chambers.
